Nordic Energy Research is pleased to see such width and depth in the ideas submitted this year, with approaches including design-driven thinking, AI-based tools, and smart energy management systems for for households. This scope of innovation, from a variety of actors, is a great reflection of the theme of this year’s challenge, Citizen Engagement. As society is made up of a diverse group of citizens, a broad range of solutions is also required, which the Nordic Energy Challenge contributions have demonstrated.
The Nordic Energy Challenge will culminate with an announcement of the winner at the Annual Mobility Workshop in Oslo, Norway, on 2–3 October. At the workshop, there will be a prize ceremony where the first, second, and third placers are awarded with an honorarium of 50,000 NOK, 20,000 NOK, and 10,000 NOK, respectively.
We look forward to seeing how the potential of all project proposals can progress and thereby contribute to engaging Nordic citizens in the green energy transition.
