Last week the Nordic Council of Ministers for Business, Energy and Regional Policy (MR-NER), held their annual energy meeting in Stockholm.
Daniel Johansson, State Secretary to the Minister for Information Technology and Energy, Anna-Karin Hatt, hosted the meeting on 18 October where the upcoming action plan for Nordic energy policy cooperation for 2014-2017 was discussed. The plan sets the direction for Nordic cooperation in the coming years and the aim is to contribute to a stable and secure energy supply, sustainable growth and an efficient and well-functioning electricity market.
During the meeting, it was decided that the Nordic Committee of Senior Officials for Energy (EK-E) should examine the possibilities for a more proactive Nordic cooperation in international climate-energy collaborations and to explore possible future Nordic cooperation based on the recommendations of the Nordic Energy Technology Perspectives report (NETP), developed by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and Nordic Energy Research.
