The first stage of the Nordic Energy Challenge 2024 is concluded, with seven candidates advancing to the second phase. The next step for the qualified participants is to submit their final proposals by 23 August.

Meet this year’s challengers, one by one, and gain insight into their ideas in support of Citizen Engagement. One of the participants is Xingxing Zhang.

  • Name of idea: Modular energy toolkit for the participatory development of smart wooden urban furniture
  • Summary of idea: Nordic regions are consistent in the role of wood material for the development of circular economy and green transition. This idea is to co-develop the smart urban wooden furniture, integrated with a module energy toolkit. Wood material and components can be recycled from our daily life. The modular energy toolkit enables the possible connection of wooden urban furniture with local energy system for storage and sharing.
