In 2021, COP26 concluded that we cannot solve the climate crisis without nature. In 2022, we ask how nature-based solutions can protect biodiversity and help us decarbonize. Based on case studies, the session Co-existence with nature – Nature-based solutions to the climate and biodiversity crises addresses the dual concern of climate change and biodiversity loss.
The case studies include:
- The Nordic experience
- Offshore wind and nature
Nordic Energy Research co-organizes the event with the Nordic Working Group for Biodiversity (NBM), the Nordic Vision 2030 project on Nature-based solutions, and VELUX.
Time and place
On 16 November at 13.30–14.30 (CET), the Biodiversity Day of COP27, we invite you to join us at Co-existence with nature – Nature-based solutions to the climate and biodiversity crises, to learn more about ways to simultaneously decarbonize and protect nature. The event highlights the critical link between climate, energy, and biodiversity, drawing on regional and global perspectives.
