The project Hydrogen from Green Surplus Energy to Isolated Areas for Sea and Land-based Transport is a study of an electrolysis plant for hydrogen production from green surplus electricity. The electrolysis plant is described in detail, and its operation in an isolated power grid is investigated. A thorough description must be made of the use of the products from the plant in the transport sector as well as other sectors in the immediate area that prove suitable.
The study must be able to form the basis for the immediate initiation of one or more concrete projects in suitable Nordic locations with the participation of relevant actors in the Nordic research and business environment
The project is part of Green transition of the transport sector, where Nordic Energy Research acts as secretariat, and runs from 2022 to 2023. The budget is 1 000 000 DKK and project owner is Nordic Atlantic Cooperation (NORA).
